A rainy race day in Louisville. Pacing 5:00. Finished 25 seconds under. Marathon #10 for the year, complete. A hello to all the people I saw and forgot to take pictures with: Hector Reyes, Nadia Guimont, Karin Herzmann Donna Dullys, Ken Fattmann, Andrew Wetterer, Amy Frederick, Greg Burress, etc. Fun fact: Louisville is the only city in America to register a trademark on its tap water. Not sure how I feel about that.
My continuing series of people who make doing marathons great: This is Dale my fellow copacer today. In 2010 he was 450 lbs. He changed his life dramatically, shed the weight and he’s now doing multiple marathons a year, pacing others achieve their goals and inspiring us all.
My buddy Don. I haven’t seen him since he completed his 50 state mission in Indy.
Alicja Grace grooving w my pace group.
Louisville Slugger Museum. Home of the world’s biggest bat, see if you can spot it in this photo.
One of the only photos I could take before the rain started.
Inspired by Michelangelo’s David of course.
Manly church. *grunt* Bonus Fun Fact: Louisville was voted manliest city in America by GQ Magazine
Turns out when you take pictures through a plastic bag in the rain, it looks like you took a picture through a plastic bag in the rain.
Sometimes pacing is about people who don’t want to talk to you. This lady’s (Patricia) goal was to beat 5hrs. It was her first marathon and she kept running from us apparently. She was good enough to say hello after.
Had time for a quick stop to see family in southern Indiana before flying out to Southern California.
