Atlantic City Marathon 2016

Posted on October 24, 2016July 24, 2019
Double weekend number two completed. The Atlantic City Marathon in New Jersey. The good news is that I was very consistent with yesterday. The bad news is that I was very consistent with yesterday. No more than six seconds slower per mile today. A flat, fairly uninspiring course with some wind, but otherwise perfect conditions. I’m not sure what my deal is. As usual a lot of great friends on the course. Fun Fact: constructed in 1881, Lucy the Elephant, an elephant-shaped building on the course today, pictured below is older than the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower.

I’ll try not to take it personally.

Soft pretzels: my newest, favoritest, finisher food.
Fun fact: The original Atlantic City boardwalk was the first of its kind in the USA. It cost only $5,000 to build, was a mile long, 8 feet wide, and commerce was not permitted within 30 feet of the walk. It remains true to this standard today. 😂
Karin had to wait forever for this picture.
Ken Fattmann pacing the 5:00 group. Ken is closing in on his 250th marathon. I don’t want to grow up, but if I ever have to, I want to grow up to be like Ken.

So last week there was this article going around about a guy who juggles through the marathon, and I thought to myself “oh great, now every attention whore who can juggle will decide he wants to do this.” It would seem I was wrong.
It should have been every attention whore who CAN’T juggle. He’s picking his balls up from the ground, where he dropped them. Imagine how annoying this is going through a water station. Care to guess what’s directly in front of us?
