The Texas Quad 2016

Posted on November 27, 2016July 16, 2019
Big, Long Things Number 44, 45, 46, and 47 for the year at the Texas Quad in Dallas this Thanksgiving weekend. Only 5 more to go before New Year. Loops are a lot more fun when you’ve got your friends to hang with. Despite being pretty chatty I stuck to my plan to get faster each day. Something like 5:45, 5:30, 5:10, 4:45. It was great to see Clyde, Vemala, Angela, Vincent, Kevin, Shelly, Ila, Ponytail and Teal, and even make some new friends like Davey and Robert. Fun fact: German chocolate cake is not from Germany. The recipe was actually credited to an American named Sam German, and was popularized after the recipe appeared in a 1957 edition of the Dallas Morning Star.

This was Teal’s 100th half!
Post-Race BBQ
Good food, good company, what more can one ask for?
Yes I’m normally a vegetarian but you know what they say about a foolish consistency.
Bachman Lake early morning
Hanging with Davey Green (Sir Not Appearing In This Picture)
This sign was funny after Monkey. Hahaha
Hanging with the one and only Ila on Thursday.
Series champ Vincent Ma.
Southwest was kind enough to do a flyover for each day of the race. Multiple times…
Texas Great, Kevin Brosi
Hey it’s Bachman Lake
Clyde Shank finishing on Thursday
Apparently Pizza, Tacos, Buffet, Income Tax, and Notary Public One-Stop-Shops are in high demand in Dallas
Guess which lake…
Shelly post-race
