Year to date marathon number 50 at the Jacksonville Marathon, in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia–no, Jacksonville, Florida. Anyway hot and humid day. I got to meet Jacksonville’s own animal-saving machine, Cameron Moore, hang with pacer extraordinaire Ken Fattmann and try out Galloway (Run/Walk interval) pacing. It’s a little more challenging, but interesting and seems to be gentler on the folks in the pace group if a bit harder to converse and coach. Fun fact: The St. Johns River, which flows through Jacksonville, does so South to North like the Willamette, and the Monongahela. It is also properly spelled sans comma.
