YTD Marathon or longer #52 at Across the Years 48 Hour Race (Left after 27 hours) in Glendale, AZ. 60 dirt trail loops, 63 miles, a 100k a new distance PR and Titanium the hard way (52 marathons or more in a year.) Foot pain from what I found out later was a pattern of blisters on ball of my right foot slowed me down to a crawl for the last 15 miles. Great to see Chavet, Deb, Dee Dee, Karen, Melissa, Lisa, and Dave Holmen and once again an ultra has humbled me. I have to be thankful for so many helpful, and positive friends without whom I would not have finished the 100k. I think I have to reevaluate if I have the physical, and in particular, mental strength for these things. Meanwhile I’ll be stuck in Dallas tonight because something got screwed up with my ticket when I harassed the AA ExecPlat desk to move me to a later flight. That was my fault. Fun fact: Nate Ruess, lead singer of Fun. is from Glendale, AZ. Bonus Fun Fact: The name of the band Fun. does have a period.
