The Pistol 50k 2016

Posted on December 31, 2016July 16, 2019
Year to date marathon or longer #53, my last race of the year, and first 50K, in Alcoa, Tennessee, at the Pistol. Nice little course along the Pistol Creek Greenway. I spent most of the race with Terrance Lee, a fellow maniac from Chicago. It was a nice relaxed pace that should leave me in good shape for the 50 miler tonight. That closes out this year with 46 marathons, 7 ultras, and 10 half marathons in 35 states, and 4 countries. Pardon the self indulgence but I’m certain I’ll never have another year like this. Anyway, fun fact time: Tennesseans are sometimes called butternuts because of the color of their civil war uniforms.
Gary (aka Lazarus Lake), a man who has crushed many a man, motivates…
