Great Moments in Presidential Politics

Former Wisconsin Governor and Bush Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, who is running for the Republican nomination for President made a speech to the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington, DC in which he opened his mouth and inserted his foot. Here's the money quote:
"I'm in the private sector and for the first time in my life I'm earning money. You know that's sort of part of the Jewish tradition and I do not find anything wrong with that."
Oy vey! Such a shanda this goy is. Way to trot out the stereotypes, guv. What, couldn't you roll the crucifixion in there too? Maybe "I bet you Jews would sell your friends out for 30 pieces of silver." Good God. Well, at least he didn't call anybody a Macaca.
Heads up the first Democratic Debate is Thursday. I plan to be live-blogging, possibly drunk. Lets hope the candidates make a bigger ass of themselves than Tommy has. I'd put money down that Kucinich will.
I'm feeling amused
