Marathon #125 at the Tomoka Marathon in Ormond Beach, Florida. Sometimes you have a bad day; sometimes you have an awful day. When that awful day comes when you’re a pacer, the knowledge that you are letting more than just yourself down makes the pain of your failure visceral. I didn’t take but a few pictures on this course. They don’t do it justice. This is a beautiful course that I tanked on. Fun fact: The race today began at Standard Oil magnate John D. Rockefeller’s winter home in Ormond Beach, “The Casements”. America’s first billionaire’s home was named after the casement (rather than the more customary sash) windows which are useful in warm climates to direct airflow through the house.
