Today was supposed to be big long thing number 163, a 6 hour race near Tampa. Unfortunately not enough participants for it to “count,” coupled with the fact I’ve been in a major funk lately (lots of aborted runs for me lately and people avoidance. The good news is that my therapist doesn’t think it’s depression, but that guy believes in angels, so he’s hard to take seriously.) Anyway, I showed up and did one of the 10k loops to report on the course and went back to the hotel. Hopefully I feel like running tomorrow. This race is geared towards the 5k, and 10k crowd, with a nod to the half marathoners, and perhaps a glance at the marathon and ultra crowd. 10k and 5k (subset of the 10k) loops through the park. Varying between open grass, single track, and car width clearings, and one 3 foot water crossing about 1.5 miles into the 10k loop. The 10k loop was closer to 7 miles, and was done twice for the half marathoners. 6 Hour folk do the 10k until the last hour when you do the 5k.
