BLT #23 for 2019 complete at the Starved Rock Country Marathon in Ottawa, IL. 5 miles of suburbia, and 21 of farm land and hills in the state park. The regular course was changed this year due to flooding. I found the course rather dull, but the community was very supportive. I suppose it might be because I grew up in the corn crib jungles of Indiana, but I don’t find country fields all that interesting or pretty. Fun Fact: Starved Rock is the most visited state park in Illinois and the butte overlooking the Illinois River is so named due to an episode in which Potawatomi and Ottawa natives cornered a group of Illini Indians and laid siege until they starved.
