Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota. Hot day instead of the cold, or at least rainy I was expecting. Thanks to Juli Seydell Johnson for making a bib available from her family. I owe you one. Nice race along the lake and a bucket list race crossed off. Other people I saw but didn’t have the presence of mind to photo: Donna Dullys, and Vickey Baker. Fun fact: During Ralph Nader’s 2000 run for President, he received almost 7% of his votes from people registered to vote in Duluth. Proving Duluth is unsafe at any speed.
Reason number 603 to marathon: The Babes.
Pin the tail on the ox
I may be partial, but I think I make a better Elvis. Fun fact: the day of the first Grandma’s marathon was also the day of Elvis’ last concert, coincidence? Yeah. Pretty much.
Several folks expressing solidary.
Lake Superior
More of Lake Superior. It’s giving me an inferiority complex.
Most elaborate tramp stamp ever.
Duluth’s aerial lift bridge. This is also depicted on the medal, not pictured.
Not again!. Not cancelled, just hot.
Pretty, undoubtedly weeds, but pretty nonetheless.
Why is this here? Allegedly a distant relative of the Bartholi responsible for the sculpture lived here. Hey, it’s Duluth. Let them have this.
