San Francisco Marathon (lifetime 86, year-to-date 22) this weekend was like a friendship parade. I took pictures, but I’m having phone issues. I’ll update once home. I saw John Grayson Johnson and Douglas Patton whilst prepping my gear check bag. Ken Fattmann starting his second loop of the ultra. Hung with Jana Mallder for a few miles until I caught Pamela K Brisendine, who was churning out her 50th half. Katie Krieg and I got to say hey for a bit in the marina. Then added a little mileage on the bridge by running in the wrong direction hanging with Karen Eviltwin Vollan and Jim Diego on his second loop. A quick glimpse of Emil Cheng in the park. I missed Karin Herzmann among a few others, but all in all one of the better trips. The marathon, eh, I think I’ll pass on repeating this one as much as I love SF. Fun fact: The average depth of the San Francisco Bay is only 12-15 feet. Deep water ships must follow dredged channels to prevent running aground.
