Marathon #18 for the calendar year and state #40 for the second trip around was a hilly romp through Vermont’s farm country. When I initially signed up for the race I looked forward to a quiet, small race, but one of my clubs decided to encourage folks to register for this race as part of a series, and it became the place to be. It’s not what I imagined, but it was nice to see the every weekend crowd, as well as the folks I see less often, and even meet new-to-me friends. Fun fact: Vermont used to be its own country, the Vermont Republic, founded in 1777. It would subsequently be the first state not in the original 13 colonies to adopt the US Constitution in 1791. Bonus fun fact: I don’t feel well.

What’s with the Russian Flag? Our Airbnb was hosted by Trump supporters. Kidding…They were hosting Russian exchange students. Way cool.
